Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Aqua-Lung

The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is an absolute icon in the tool watch history. This particular piece has a very interesting story to it, and that is why we are proud to present you this diver's watch. In the early 1950s the French commando frogmen asked several watch brands to make them a dive watch, Blancpain was the brand that followed up on this request. When this timepiece was released it was not only popular by the frogmen, but many other divers were happy to have this watch on the wrist. 

This specific Blancpain was actually used by a diver under water. Unfortunately the watch got lost and was recently found by dredgers in the province Zeeland in The Netherlands. When this piece was found it wasn't in a good shape, water entered the case and left a disaster. Eventually this treasure was bought and sent to Blancpain, they immediately offered their heritage program to restore this piece in it's original glory. The whole watch has been disassembled, and a lot of parts have been saved. The original dial however was completely rusted and is therefore replaced with a new old stock period correct Aqua-Lung dial from the Blanpain archives. The original dial has been saved and can be displayed next to the watch.
