In 1968 Patek Philippe introduced the Ellipse, adding a charming dresswatch to their collection. The shape of the case was inspired on the Golden Ratio, also known as divine proportions. This mathematical ratio of approximately 1.618 was used by many artists, architects and designers because of the natural elegance.
This mid-sized Patek Philippe Ellipse is made out of 18K yellow gold. The beautiful integrated bracelet add to it's classic appeal while still maintaining the timeless elegance. Ivory is the colour of the dial, giving a soft and warm tone. This timepiece only displays the time, bringing a very calm look to the dial. A hand wound movement was used to make this piece very thin and elegant to wear.
